Expectations on the Subject

1. For me to understand Algebra.
2. To prove to me that any form of Math can be fun.
3. To show me that numbers are interesting.

That's pretty much it....

"AHA!" or "I actually understood the lesson!"

No offense but Algebra is not one of my faves. I really don't like math too much... Too many numbers and formulas.... But that is why we study it, right? Here is a list of some of the lessons which gave me internal bleeding, squeezed the juices out of my brain and had me bop myself on the head or ask myself "What the hell have I been doin these past few years? Have I not learned a thing?" (figuratively speaking, of course)

1. Kinds of Linear Systems (consistent and dependent, consistent and independent, and inconsistent)
2. Solving Systems of Equations
3. Solving Complex Fractions

Some topics I forgot or did not understand very well:

• Quadratic Formula.

Memorable Moments in this subject

1. The day I knew I passed. Who would want to fail, anyway?
2. When I got a high grade in a quiz. I remember this quiz quite well, it was graphing, I'm sure and I got a perfect score! Hindi naman sa nagmamayabang ako or anything, I'm just happy and proud because that was the first (and last) quiz in IA where I got a score that high.
3. The first time I saw Ms. Gallardo smile in class. I'm not sure if this would actually count as memorable, but the reason behind it would remain a secret between me, myself and I.
4. When I finally understood the lesson. After days of staring into the Math Time like waiting for it to melt and nearly having a stroke while practicing solving problems, I managed to understand the lesson. After that, I learned two new lessons-how to solve those equations and not to scream and jump for joy in public.

Discouraging Moments in this subject

1. The day I stood up. I didn't quite get the lesson for that day. What was the lesson? To be honest, I can't really remember. Maybe because I didn't want to remember that hateful day but that incident also served as a lesson for me-always review and try to understand the lesson.
2. When I could not understand the lessons. Let's face it. Intermediate Algebra is most probably one of the hardest subject around. All those numbers and letters would make your head turn, most especially if you don't know what our teacher is talking about.
3. During the checking of test papers and quizzes. Self-explanatory.
4. Card giving. Waiting for your parents in the UCB or UTP, making excuses and trying hard to calm yourself down, telling yourself that you did well this grading period but at the same time feeling that your best was not enough....
